   Our HVAC course focuses on the residential and commercial air conditioning units, as well as preparation for the EPA certification exam. This course is designed for the current “field” technician, as well as the students with no experience but desires a career in the HVAC industry.
    Utilizing our fully functional Hands-On lab, students will learn how to clean, maintain, trouble shoot, and repair the equipment, as well as gain basic understanding of how to install the equipment. Students will receive manufacturing information on the equipment in the lab, as well as packets of information to prepare them for the EPA exam. Throughout the course, students will have to provide their own basic tools. Tool assistance can be provided upon request; the school can order a variety of took kits that vary in price. This course, in conjunction with the EPA certification and proper tools, will assist the current technician to progress in his/her trade, as well as provide new technicians with the knowledge and credentials towards gaining employment in the HVAC industry. 
    The EPA exam is a national certification incorporated into this course. The Exam itself is optional, and has an additional cost of $50. This certification allows the technician to carry, purchase, and dispose of the chemicals needed for the A/C systems as well as refrigerants. These certificates are great credentials for any resume, and working technician.

   Our HVAC/R course is designed for the working technician, some experience is necessary. This course will instruct students on the fundamentals of commercial and industrial equipment within the framework of the EPA rules and regulations. Students will learn different types of servicing procedures, state of the art refrigerant throughout a systems cycle, a review of OHMS law and electrical circuit drawings. Students will gain a better understanding of the systems, controls, wiring and trouble shooting.

Oil Heat Technician

  The Oil Heat Technician course has been developed over several years, to provide students with the necessary knowledge and understanding required towards becoming qualified technicians in the oil heat industry. This course is designed to instruct students in the proper and safe operation of the equipment. 
    Fifty percent of the course is spent in our top of the line Hands-On lab, students will be instructed on proper cleaning and tune up procedures, basic electrical wiring, as well as basic service and trouble shooting techniques. This, combined with the classroom theory instruction, will help ensure the student a more complete understanding of the course material in a “real Life” setting. 
    The classroom theory is based on the national standards provided by NORA, the National Oilheat Research Alliance. Throughout the course students will be prepping for the NORA certification and the exam will be provided on the last day of the course. The books and lab fees cover all books, handouts and lab supplies, but students will have to provide their own basic tools. We have tool assistance to aid in the purchasing of tools. Tools are not required the first day of class; the lab instructor will let the students know what it needed.  
    The NORA exam is optional, and has an additional cost of $50. This course, in conjunction with the NORA certification and proper tools, will assist the current technician to progress in his/her trades, as well provide new technician with the knowledge and credentials towards gaining employment in the oil heat industry.

This course is a combination of two classes, students will choose what course to start with and when completed, they will move into the next class. The evening combo is 30 weeks long and the day combo is 16 weeks long. Students will be prepped for the NORA exam in the Oil Heat course and the EPA in the HVAC course. Tuition includes all books, handouts, manufacturing information, and lab materials. Each course is about fifty percent lab and fifty percent classroom theory, and the secondary certificate exams are optional but highly recommended to take. Students have the potential of receiving four certificates from these two classes, if they pass everything with a seventy eight percent or higher.

Gas Systems, Controls, & Service Program

   This unique course is designed to reach a broad range of students. Whether you are currently licensed in the gas field, or interested in beginning a career in the gas industry for the first time, this course will provide students with a more in-depth, broader understanding of gas fired heating equipment and service techniques. Eighty-five percent of the course is dedicated to “hands-on” instruction in our “state of the art” fully functional gas-heating lab. 
    Students will learn how to clean, maintain, and trouble shoot new and old systems. They will also cover wiring and control circuits associated with these systems, how to install equipment, and they will receive manufacturing information. Slide shows and videos are provided to demonstrate the safety procedures and possible out come if not done properly.  Students will have to provide their own basic tools, but we have tool assistance if needed. 
    This course does not provide any educational hours toward the licensing process, it will assist all students in becoming more knowledgeable, valued technicians to current employers, as well as provide an excellent addition to current resumes.

Gas Piping Installer

Our course covers both Natural and LP gas piping regulations and meets the NH State requirements for the 60 hours of educational time needed to achieve the first level of gas licensing.  This course, in conjunction with 1000 hours of field training, will allow candidates to be eligible to obtain a GPI (Gas Piping Installer) License. Trainees will still need to fulfill the “field” training out on the job, but after completing this course they will be eligible to take the state exam immediately.

    This is a combo program that lumps together ALL four of our gas heating courses; Gas Systems, Controls, and Service Program, Gas Piping installer, Gas Equipment Installer, and Gas Service Technician. This program has been developed to help new people enter into the gas heating trade. 
    New trainees will start off with the Gas Systems, Controls, and Service Program to improve their skills and knowledge of the gas heating systems. Students will learn how to wire, clean, maintain, diagnose problems and replace parts utilizing our Hands-On lab. This course is fifteen weeks long, and is eighty five percent lab time. 
    Next, students will progress into the NH State Gas Licensing courses, these courses only provide the education hours needed for licensing. Students will start with the first level, the Gas Piping Installer, for eight weeks. This course teaches the piping regulations and preps the students for the Gas Piping License exam. The exam can be taken immediately after the course is completed and students will receive a certificate of completion if they have attended all class time. 
    When completed with the piping section, students will immediately start the Gas Equipment Installer course. This is the second level of licensing for the state of NH and is a five-week course. When completed, students will start the Gas Service Technician course, an additional five weeks long. Students will have to complete all state requirements to be able to apply through the state for the corresponding license. This program is a total of 33 weeks long and provides the education needed for licensing as well as practical training of the systems and equipment used in the industry.

Gas License Code Combo Course

This is a combo course designed for the Trainees that want to achieve the full NH gas fitters licensing. Students will have to complete all state requirements to be able to apply through the state for the corresponding license; these courses only provide the education needed for the licensing process. Students are eligible to take the state exam immediately after completing each section. 
    Trainees can complete all three classes in a short period of time, the evening course is only 18 weeks and the day course is only 7 weeks long. This is great for any technician who close to having the field time needed as well as the new technicians looking to have a head start on the process.

This class is designed as a “Entry-Level” course. People who wish to pursue a career as a licensed Electrician, are highly encouraged to take this course prior to entering into formal apprenticeship classes.
    This course will provide students with an in-depth understanding of electrical theory, as well as basic math formulas, and equations that electricians use on a daily basis. Students will also be instructed on the proper use of basic tools with an emphasis on safety.
    Students will utilize our “Hands-On” lab for instruction on the proper installation of electrical circuits such as, basic lighting circuits and switches, 3-way switching, and outlet receptacles. As well as basic doorbell circuits and MORE.
    This course will provide students with an excellent addition to their current resumes for potential employment as an electrical apprentice.

Electrical Apprentice Program
  Our Journeyman Electrician courses fulfill the state licensing educational requirements to obtain the NH Journeyman license. We only provide the educational portion of the NH apprentice requirements. Students taking these courses should be working out in the field to obtain the field time needed for licensing.
  
     These programs are designed for the working electrical apprentice and meet only one night a week. Students must have the previous year completed, per the state of NH, to continue into the next level course.
             Each course starts up in September and runs one night a week for 40 weeks for a total of 160 hours, unless taking the accelerated course. This allows the students to slowly gain the knowledge and skills needed in the field, while achieving the hours needed for licensing Tuition for each is the $1400, books fees are only added if needed. Books do carry over from course to course; if the student does not have them for one reason or an other,  we have them for purchase in our office.

This “New” accelerated format has been specifically designed to allow “first year” electrical apprentices to complete the educational requirements for year one, and be prepared to begin our Journeyman Electrician 2 course that starts in September.

    This course will instruct students on general plumbing practices, terminology, and repairs. They will learn about basic tools and their uses with an emphasis on safety. Students will utilize our “Hands-On” lab for instruction on the lay-out and installation of basic venting, and drainage systems, as well as  domestic water piping. Students will be instructed on basic soldering techniques, and the different types of piping materials such as copper, pvc, and cast iron.

*The completion of this course will provide students with an excellent addition to their current resumes while pursuing employment as a plumbing apprentice.*

Plumbing Apprentice Program
    Our Plumbing Apprentice courses are designed for the working plumbing apprentice who wishes to fulfill the educational requirements to earn his or her Journeyman’s Plumbing License. Each course consists of 160 hours total, 150 hours plus a minimum of 6 hours of plumbing safety. Students must have the previous year completed, per the state of NH, to continue into the next level course.
    Each course starts up in September and runs one night a week for the forty weeks, unless taking the accelerated course. This allows the students to slowly gain the knowledge and skills needed in the field, while achieving the hours needed for licensing. Our classes only provide the educational hours; student will have to be working with a licensed Plumber to achieve the field time needed. Tuition for each is the $1400, books fees are only added if needed.
Accelerated Plumbing Apprentice Program

This unique “Accelerated” course is designed for Plumbing apprentices who wish to complete the Plumbing year 1 educational requirements in our “New” accelerated format versus our traditional 40 week course outline. 

This course is 16 weeks in duration and consists of 160 hours. This “New” accelerated format has been specifically designed to allow “first year” plumbing apprentices to complete the educational requirements for year one, and be prepared to begin our Plumbing 2 course that starts in September.

 ​​        This course is 18 hours in duration and is designed to instruct students on the main highlights of the 2009 International Plumbing Code. Students will be issued a book of collected material and will learn proper and efficient methods to navigating the code book. Other course topics that will be covered include:  Amendments to the current code, Discussion of the A.D.A. Code, How to read and understand building plans, Basic math formulas, and math problem solving.

          This course is ideal for students preparing to sit for the N.H. Journeyman or Master Plumbing License Exam and will help ensure students the best possible opportunity for success.

           Tuition includes a take home book of all the material taught during the course. This course also requires the plumbing code book currently used by the state of NH. This book can be purchased in our office for an additional fee.

OSHA 10 Hour
This ten hour compulsory safety course is now more often asked that all tradesmen and woman should hold a OSHA certification in order to work or even walk on any federal and union job sites. It is minatory by the state of New Hampshire that all plumbing and electrical apprentice hold this certification. Prior to receiving licensing. The objective of this course is to reduce or prevent injuries and to create a safer construction environment upon completion, the students will be mailed out an OSHA card

*Cards will need to be processed by OSHA, this may take a few weeks for cards to be distributed to students.

NORA stands for National Oilheat Research Alliance. This non-profit organization sets the national standards for the Oil heat industry.

They have three levels of certification:


Bronze Certification- Level one designed for beginner's to learn and execute fundamental skills.

Silver Certification - Level two for technical competence established through training, a test and field experience.

Gold Certification - Highest level is established through previous participation in the Silver Certification
program with additional competency in energy efficiency.

The exam is 4 parts, 25 questions each; Core, Type I, Type II, Type III.
 
Core -A Technician must pass Core in order to earn any other certification.
 
Type I -For servicing small appliances.
 
Type II -For servicing or disposing of high-pressure appliances, except small appliances and MVACs.
 
Type III For servicing or disposing of low-pressure appliances.
 
Universal -The successful passing of all four sections of the examination.

EPA Certification Exam
   
This is a certification exam that is commonly known as 608 Certification. Section 608 of the US Federal Clean Air Act requires all persons who work with regulated refrigerants to be certified. We provide this exam at our location but it is corrected by the ESCO Institute. Grades and certification card may take a few weeks to be returned to the tester.
 
Students taking the HVAC or HVAC/R course will be prepped for this exam throughout the course. Students are not required to take this exam but we strongly suggest it.

NH Gas Exams
"Where can I take the New Hampshire state exam?"

Right here in Manchester at our facility, we utilize a company that enrolls people for the exams on line and then they come to our location to take it. The testers can choose what day they wish to take the exam, as long as it is within our office hours. The exam is a timed, 100 question, open book, computerized exam. Testers have three hours to complete the exam; can only use the NFPA 54 2009 codebook. No Phones or other materials are allowed in the testing room.

*Please give one to two weeks notice of your testing date. Anything submitted within 72 hours of selected testing date is at risk of being denied.
​*Students in the Gas License Code Combo will need to test after completion of each course to move on into the next. Testing fees are not included in the tuition.
