Position Summary
Guerin Mechanical Contractors is seeking a motivated, reliable Plumbing Apprentice to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in the plumbing and mechanical trades while working alongside experienced journeymen and master plumbers on residential, commercial, and light industrial projects throughout New England.
The Plumbing Apprentice will assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing, gas, and mechanical systems while learning the trade in accordance with state codes and company standards.
Responsibilities
Assist licensed plumbers with installation of water, waste, vent, gas, and mechanical piping systems
Support rough-in and finish plumbing for residential and commercial projects
Cut, assemble, and install piping systems (copper, PEX, PVC, cast iron, etc.)
Carry materials, set up tools, and maintain a clean and safe jobsite
Learn to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and schematics
Assist with pressure testing, inspections, and troubleshooting
Follow all safety protocols, OSHA requirements, and company procedures
Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles as required
Demonstrate professionalism with customers, inspectors, and coworkers at all times
Requirements
High school diploma or GED preferred
Enrolled in or willing to enroll in a state-approved apprenticeship program (MA/NH)
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn the trade from the ground up
Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work on ladders, and perform physical labor
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Basic hand tool knowledge a plus
Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Punctual, dependable, and team-oriented
