Full-time Building Mechanic – with Plumbing knowledge needed!

Merrimack School District is hiring a full-time Building Mechanic.

The ideal candidate will be able to provide students and staff with an attractive, safe, and well-maintained facilities in which to work and learn.

Key Skills Needed:

• Ability to diagnose and fix plumbing issues
• Ability to repair ejector pumps, sewer line blockages, urinals, flushometer, toilets, sinks, water fixtures, water leaks, and ball valves

Responsibilities:

• Operate motorized vehicles and equipment
• General building repair
• Custodial equipment repair
• Operate, install, and maintain heating, plumbing, and electrical equipment, sprinkler systems, and all other equipment
• Ability to operate plumbing equipment; ex. Drain snakes and jetter
• Assembling furniture
• Grounds maintenance, mowing, snow shoveling

Qualifications:
•High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
•Working knowledge of the methods and tools used in maintenance and repair work
•A Journeyman’s License in one of the building trades is desirable
•Valid Driver’s License
•Experience preferred

Hours per day: 8 (3pm-11pm)
Days per week: 5
Days per year: 260
Starting rate: $23.35 – $27.16
