The HVAC Controls Systems Technician contributes to the mechanical services team which includes the heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) and plumbing shop operations with an emphasis in HVAC by maintaining, repairing, and installing heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment, ensuring effective and efficient operations.
Responsibilities include:
• Read, write and modify Building Automation Software (BAS) Sequence of Operations code and use the BAS digital logic controls to make changes to equipment operation, building schedules, software programming, creating historical logs/trends in addition to make changes at the application and equipment level.
• Perform daily system checks and operation of several software applications for building control systems.
• Monitor and control and maintain HVAC equipment.
• Strategize/implement energy saving practices on campus in addition to using BAS for troubleshooting, diagnosing and evaluating needed repairs of mechanical equipment.
• Perform skilled preventative maintenance & repairs on HVAC systems and BAS control network.
• Inspect, install, operate, repair, modify and test digital, electrical, mechanical, and electronic control equipment related to heating, air conditioning, fume hood, steam distribution and exhaust systems.
