Description
The HVAC Installation Service Technician is responsible for supporting the installation, startup, commissioning, and service of commercial HVAC systems in accordance with company standards, project requirements, and applicable safety regulations. This position performs HVAC basic troubleshooting, equipment startup and testing, warranty-related work, and service support as needed to ensure quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

The HVAC Installation Service Technician works closely with project managers, service technicians, and other field personnel to complete projects efficiently while maintaining accurate documentation, organized job sites, and compliance with company policies and procedures. This role requires the ability to safely operate company vehicles and equipment, work in physically demanding environments, and participate in ongoing training to maintain and develop technical skills.

Requirements
Complete the startup, testing, and commissioning of newly installed HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation and performance
Assist with the installation of residential and commercial HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, mini-splits, ductwork, ventilation equipment, and related components
Perform basic troubleshooting and diagnostics on HVAC systems and equipment.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, installation manuals, and work orders is preferred but not required
Maintain compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and company quality standards
Coordinate with project managers, service technicians, and other trades to deliver quality installations, promptly resolve warranty issues, and maintain customer satisfaction.
Properly use and maintain company tools, vehicles, and equipment
Complete installation documentation, service reports, and required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
Educate customers on the operation and basic maintenance of installed equipment when appropriate
Keep job sites clean, organized, and professional
Participate in ongoing training to develop technical knowledge and advance HVAC skills
Support emergency service calls and installation as needed

Skills & Qualifications:

Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn HVAC systems and equipment
Ability to read and interpret basic material lists, packing slips, and project documentation
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with field teams and project leadership
Commitment to maintaining a safe, efficient, and well-organized job site
EPA Certification is required, but we will provide education if necessary
HVAC installation experience or successful completion of an HVAC training program required
Knowledge of plumbing installation is a plus
Previous experience in construction or other mechanical trades is preferred
Valid driver’s license required
Eligible to be insured under the company’s commercial vehicle policy for operation of company vehicles

Education & Experience

Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial constructions or related field operations
Experience supporting mechanical, HVAC, and/or plumbing constructions operations preferred

Physical Requirements:

Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
Ability to stand, stoop, bend, and climb for extended periods
Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment weighing 50 pounds or more
Field-based position supporting active commercial construction job sites
Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and other physically demanding environments
Work is conducted outdoors in varying weather and site conditions
Schedule and hours may vary based on project demands and operational needs
