Join Our Team as an HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanic
Are you a skilled HVAC professional with expertise in ductwork and airflow systems? We’re looking for a motivated HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our team and play a key role in installing, fabricating, and maintaining high-performing HVAC systems across a variety of projects.
What You’ll Do
In this hands-on role, you’ll bring projects to life by installing, modifying, and repairing ductwork and HVAC systems. You’ll work from blueprints and specifications to ensure precise, code-compliant installations while collaborating closely with team members and other on-site trades.
Your day-to-day may include:
Reading and interpreting blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications
Measuring, laying out, and installing duct systems (TDF, snap lock, slide and drive, etc.)
Installing flexible duct systems and sealing duct joints to prevent air leakage
Testing airflow, adjusting dampers and registers, and supporting system balancing
Installing and servicing HVAC equipment such as air handling units and blower systems
Inspecting, cleaning, and repairing existing duct systems and components
Troubleshooting airflow issues, duct design challenges, and HVAC system performance
Coordinating with other trades to ensure seamless project execution
Ensuring all work meets industry standards, building codes, and job specifications
Loading/unloading materials and maintaining a clean, safe job site
Using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment
Requirements
What You Bring
We’re looking for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in their work:Vocational/technical training or completion of an HVAC apprenticeship preferred
2+ years of HVAC or ductwork experience preferred
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, airflow principles, and duct design
Ability to read and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
Proficiency with sheet metal tools and fabrication equipment
Experience with leak detection, sealing, and system balancing techniques
Reliable transportation
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset
Ability to work independently and help guide apprentices or helpers
Safety-minded with knowledge of OSHA standards and procedures
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on role requiring the ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform tasks that involve bending, reaching, standing, kneeling, and working on your feet for extended periods. Work may also include confined spaces and varying temperature conditions.
